October may seem a long way off, but the Athens County Humane Society (ACHS) is already stirring up the Halloween spirits that haunt the Athens area to prepare for a hair-raising fundraiser that will take place at the Athens County fairgrounds October 24th. “Horror on the Hill” will feature thrills with “low scare” and “high scare” times as well as being wheelchair accessible. We want to make this a fun event for as many as possible. Proceeds will go toward supporting the work of ACHS.
We are excited to have Jannette and Pat Quackenbush assisting and advising us. The couple are well known in Ohio and neighboring states as investigators of psychic phenomena. Jannette is the author of numerous books on the subject, including The Ohio Ghost Hunter Guide and Monsters, Cryptids, and Mysterious Wild Beasts, West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, and Beyond: And Where to Find Them.
ACHS is currently recruiting volunteers to help plan and carry out the event. Actors, makeup artists, set and costume designers, and others who enjoy working as part of a team for a good cause are encouraged to get involved. Message us here or email [email protected]
