???? ??? ????!The DeLand Black Heritage Trail Celebration event is set for April 16th, 2023 from 2pm - 5pm on West Voorhis Ave between S. Florida and S Clara Avenues. This inaugural event will be a family-oriented street party introducing the DeLand Black Heritage Trail to our community!

The trail will consist of self-guided cycling and walking routes that connect Black heritage sites and interesting destinations in DeLand.

This project seeks to encourage pedestrians and cyclists to explore places of historical importance and create deeper connections within their community in a health-oriented way.
These connections are a catalyst to breaking barriers and economic divides through greater historical awareness and community integration. This project can inspire infrastructure and policy planning to improve safety.
It is made possible through funding from Florida Humanities, Stetson University and America Walks. Partners include the St. Johns River to Sea Loop Alliance, West Volusia Historical Society, Stetson University, Joyce Cusack Spring Hill Resource Center, DeLand Police Athletic League, Greater Union First Baptist Church, African American Museum of Art, DeLand & Spring Hill business owners and Spring Hill residents (and you!).
