Definitely not cruising Main Street.

This will be the fourth or fifth year that we’ve pointed out the fact that cruising main is illegal in Longmont. That’s why, in 2026, on July 25th at around 6:00 we definitely will not be cruising Main Street like we have definitely not done for the last 5 years. For some reason nobody listens to us when we tell you all that cruising your badass sports car, lifted trucks, semi trucks, busses, classic cars, or even your daily driver, up and down Main Street is illegal. So again, in an effort to help the city enforce their stance on this illegal tradition we are OFFICIALLY announcing that we definitely will not be cruising Main Street on July 25th at around 5:00pm and neither should you! So definitely don’t get a barbecue grill and your camp chairs together to line up and down Main Street to look at all the cool cars that definitely won’t be there because I think we can all agree that cruising is illegal and shouldn’t be done, especially on July 25th at around 6:00pm until 10:00pm. If you do have to access Main Street on July 25th at 6:00-10:00pm make sure you go directly to where you need to go, get what you need and go immediately home. You have to resist the temptation to flip it around and do multiple passes up and down Main Street because going back and forth on a road funded by your taxes is illegal if you do it more than once. It is because of our consideration for this law that we will definitely not be cruising Main Street on July 25th at 6:00-10:00pm. Some people apparently think the law is silly or unenforceable, and those people need to understand that those laws exist for a reason. We don’t exactly know the reason, but I’m sure whatever the all knowing government of Longmont stated as the reason is good enough. So make sure to tell your non Facebook friends to definitely not cruise Main Street on July 25th at 6:00-10:00pm, and help bring awareness to this IRL. If you want to see cool cars without being a law breaking hoodlum, go see the coloRODan’s RODfest car show benefitting the mountain states children’s home. That can be found at the mountain states children’s home. See the ColoRODans website for further details, you do have to register to attend or show a car in the car show, due to the security protocols of the mountain states children’s home. All proceeds go directly to the children’s home and the residents of the children’s home are the ones that vote for their favorite cars to receive awards. It is a great charity that immediately benefits local kids that need your help and support. Last year they raised over $19,000 for the kids, let’s do our part to get them well over $20,000 this year! You can preregister a carload of people for $25 by printing out their entry form and sending it in. The same form allows you to register a show car to be shown during the car show and is $35 and includes 2 meal tickets. Don’t wait, because it may fill up fast. It’s a great event that you definitely should attend, unlike the illegal cruise that happens on the same day, which you definitely should not do.
