Defensive Pistol 1 is designed for responsible gun owners who are ready to build a solid foundation of safe and effective handgun use. Whether you're a first-time gun owner or someone returning to the range after years away, this course offers a supportive and professional environment to grow your skills.
What you'll learn:
Firearm safety and responsible ownership
Operation of handguns and ammunition types
Safe handling, loading, unloading, and storage practices
Core shooting fundamentals and accuracy techniques
Dry fire practice and how to do it at home
Target shooting and managing performance anxiety
Introduction to the MTAC training cycle and why it matters
Required equipment:
Clear eye protection (ANSI Z87.1 rated)
Hearing protection
A reliable handgun (excluding Sig P320 models)
Retention holster for your handgun
2+ magazines (for semi-automatic pistols)
Pistol belt
Pants with pockets (for storing magazines)
250 rounds of commercially loaded ball ammunition
Notebook and pen
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
