Defensive Pistol #1This class will qualify you to draw from holster, when shooting by yourself on the private lanes or on special times under supervision.
Prerequisite(s):
Intermediate (Co-Ed or Woman’s) – Or equivalent
Topics Covered:
Classroom Portion
Difference in range shooting vs real world shooting (being in a fight)
Fundamentals of marksmanship vs the fundamentals of defensive shooting
Conceal carry considerations
How much guns and gear matters in a gun fight vs training and awareness
Practical Skills Portion
Drawing from concealment
Multiple Shots on Target
Demonstration of the importance of gun control and body position in relation to pistol recoil
Discuss the relation of recoil to sight tracking
Demonstrate the relation between sight alignment and distance to target/target size
Discuss/demonstrate trigger reset in a defensive shooting scenario
Discuss number of shots necessary and when it crosses the line from defense to unjustified use of force
Requirements:
Eye and ear protection (available for purchase at Fox Valley Shooting Range)
A holster and 100 rounds of ammunition (available for purchase at Fox Valley Shooting Range)
A clear and open mind
