Defensive Carbine 1


This course is designed for the new or experienced shooter looking to improve or learn the fundamentals of carbine marksmanship,core weapon manipulation and safety , magazine reloads, immediate action/ malfuntion drills, use of cover and movement techniques.

This course is designed to introduce the intermediate shooter to defensive carbine/rifle work. Low light/no light, movement, and decision making work will be included in this class.

PREREQUISITE:

All students must understand and be able to successfully maintain all shooting safety fundamentals. Students should be familiar with the working operations of their carbine/rifle.

CLASS STARTS AT 8:30AM - PLEASE BE THERE NO LATER THAN 9:00AM FOR SET UP AND SAFETY BRIEFING.

COURSE BREAKDOWN:

- Range orientation

- Firearms safety

- Warm-up drills

- Ready positions

-Accuracy drills

- Engaging multiple targets

- Close quarters engagements

- Reloading techniques and malfunction clearance drills

- Search & scan / situational awareness

- Cover & concealment

- Various shooting positions

- Low Light / No Light engagements (if venue allows)

EQUIPMENT LIST:

-Quality functional long gun/carbine (AR-15 / M4 / AK-47 style) WITH ONE OR TWO POINT SLING.

- Minimum of 600 rounds of brass cased rifle ammunition (no steel cased ammunition)

- Minimum 4 magazines minimum for your carbine or rifle.

-Magazine or loading device pouches / magazine carrier, etc.

-PLEASE HAVE ALL MAGAZINES LOADED PRIOR TO CLASS

-Ammunition dump pouch (optional)

-Sturdy belt at least 1.5” wide

-Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning with good ankle support.

-Clothing suitable for training in any weather – long pants – long sleeve shirt, hoodie or jacket for cold weather.

-Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses

-Earmuffs and earplugs

-Knee pads and elbow pads (optional but recommended)

-notepad and pen for taking notes

-A humble, willing to learn attitude

This course is limited to 6 students only. First 6 to buy tickets will attend.

Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch and beverages.

If you have to cancel attending a course you are registered for you may opt to transfer to another course that has openings within the calendar year provided you give 7 day notice of the cancellation. No exceptions.

No-Call/No-Show: Participants who do not show to the event without prior 7 day notice forfeit their deposit.
