Deer Tick return with their ninth studio album, Coin-O-Matic, a record that shines a light on the hidden histories of their home state of Rhode Island—where the everyday dramas of working-class families collide with the menace of the mafia underworld.Tapping into that strange duality, the band crafts songs exploring desperation, grief, redemption, and resilience with cinematic storytelling and lived-in emotion. The album arrives as a complicated love letter to a way of life slowly slipping from the collective memory.
Recorded at their home studio, Coin-O-Matic marks the first time in their two-decade career that Deer Tick fully produced an album themselves, capturing both experimentation and the raw immediacy of their live sound.
