Deeper Conversations

I created Deeper Conversations because I’m kind of done with going to networking events, standing around awkwardly, and introducing myself 10 times with the same three facts:

What’s your name?
Where are you from?
What do you do?

And then somehow spending 20 minutes talking without actually getting to know each other. So this event is different!

Deeper Conversations is a space where all of those things don’t really matter. We skip the small talk and go straight to conversations that are actually interesting.

When you arrive, you’ll join a small group of around 3–5 people.

Each table gets a menu of topics and questions from playful and thought-provoking to personal and deep.

Pick a question together and talk about it for as long as you want.

There’s no schedule you have to follow and no pressure to participate in a certain way.

You can:

• come at any point and leave at any point
• switch tables whenever you feel like it
• skip a question you don’t want to discuss
• stay with one topic for 5 minutes or 45
• go as deep or as shallow as feels comfortable to you
• listen more than you speak
• disagree, get curious, laugh, overshare a little… whatever happens

The only real goal?

To have actual conversations with actual humans.

You might leave having made a new friend.
You might learn something completely unexpected about someone.
You might have a conversation that makes you think differently about your own life.

Or you might just spend an evening talking about things that are far more interesting than what everyone does for work.

All of those count.
