Deep Mulch Dry Farming with Nick Canino of Rhythm Seed Farm

Learn how to grow a bountiful summer garden with zero water or fertilizer, using the magic of deep woodchip mulch! This revolutionary style of urban farming has been refined on a 1/2 acre deep mulch dry farm in NE Portland that has been growing over 1000lbs of produce every year since 2015 without watering or fertilizing. After the workshop, attendees are invited for an informal tour of the deep mulch garden in the Cully neighborhood.

***All classes this summer will be held in our greenhouse Hoop House 2, which is located out in the yard of the nursery, near the trees and small fruits. It is a large greenhouse that functions as a covered outdoor area. If the weather is warm, we will have water available, but please remember to dress so that you are comfortable during the presentation.***
