----- Workshop Description ------
What happens when actually listen - not only to the words, but everything beyond?
In this workshop we learn to listen to the tiniest details our scene-partner gives us, and the improv magic that can happen when we are given and receive trust in a scene. Kristine brings her experience from contact improvisation (dancing), ensemble work and improv and theatre experiences.
We discover in our bodies how we can talk, communicate and can be together on stage even when we are not using words. Let us listen with more than our ears, and open our eyes and bodies. This might be a different approach to improv, but the tools for listening can be used both on stage and in our daily lives.
We learn to:
- Listen with the whole body.
- React and move together with your co-players on and off stage.
- Improvise without thinking, joining the flows and impulses that happens natural in the scene.
- Practice group-scenes and ensemble working.
- Object work
- Clear choices.
- Timing and energy.
*Open for all levels. Participants should wear something comfortable to move in.
----- About Kristine -----
Kristine Sterud is a Norwegian improviser and journalist. Kristine has been performing, teaching and hanging out at Impro Neuf in Oslo for over 10 years. Her mission in life is to bring the joy of improv and the magic that can happen to more people in a safe environment. The safer we feel, and the more we listen to each other, the more creative we can get. She has been teaching improv to both beginner classes to more advanced and experienced groups. Ever felt the thrill of doing something new - and the joy when you nailed it? We're aiming for that!
Kristine is also the co-director of the well-known Oslo Improv Festival 2025.
