The new Air Force Memorial at the South Australian Aviation Museum (SAAM) is a collaborative project between AFA-SA, RAAF Edinburgh and SAAM to honour those Defence personnel who have lost their lives in military aviation accidents in South Australia or related to RAAF Base Edinburgh units since World War 2. As we come together for the dedication of this new memorial in 2025, we will particularly acknowledge the loss of FLTLT Ross Frayne who was killed when Meteor A77-3, an Air Trials Flight aircraft based at Woomera, crashed seventy years ago on 16 September 1955 at RAAF Mallala.
Please join us at the SAAM for the Dedication of this new contemporary Air Force Memorial honouring those who have been lost in the service of our nation in South Australia since the end of World War 2.
After the service, attendees are invited to share in light refreshments and visit the wonderful displays in the South Australian Aviation Museum.
Dress for the Service is smart attire or Lounge suite for civilians and Ceremonial Dress 1 for military members.
Medals and Decorations shou;d be worn.
Please RSVP by Friday 10 October to AFA-SA by
