The Historic Soldiers’ Orphans’ Homestead will host The Legacy of The Soldiers’ Orphans’ Homestead will host A Historical Dedication and Grand Reopening on June 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 777 Baltimore Street in Gettysburg. This special event will mark the official reopening of the historic circa 1836 building and celebrate its preservation as a significant piece of Adams County history.
The program will feature a ceremonial ribbon cutting, remarks by General Grant, and guided interpretation throughout the Orphanage, where knowledgeable guides will be stationed at key locations to offer brief historical talks. Guests will also enjoy refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.
