Presented by The Decolonizing Lens, join us at WAG-Qaumajuq for FREE screenings by local filmmaker Kevin Settee.
Enjoy screenings of completed works and works-in-progress by Kevin Settee, including The Lake Winnipeg Project: Poplar River. Opening remarks by Elder Charlotte Nolin. Conversation between Kevin Settee and Sonya Ballantyne will follow the screening.
Event will take place in Illavut and Ilpvik. These two spaces are named by Inuttitut (Nunatsiavut) Language Keepers Katie Winters and Dr. Heather Igloliorte.
Kevin Settee
Kevin Settee was born and raised in the downtown west end of Winnipeg, with roots in Matheson Island, and Fisher River. As the current University of Manitoba Writer/Storyteller in Residence, Kevin focuses a lot of his work on social justice, Indigenous rights, and Indigenous storytelling through photography and video.
