**What is Council?**
Council practice invites us to enter a realm of deep presence and connection in a communal space. Rooted in ancient traditions from diverse cultures around the world, Council is shaped today by the wisdom of Indigenous practices within the US and other global influences. Through a set of guiding principles and shared agreements, this practice nurtures a heartfelt and spontaneous exchange, fostering empathy, understanding, and a sense of belonging. In this council, we will journey together through the landscapes of decolonization, our relationships with sacred plants, and the pursuit of liberation.

About Gabriel -
Gabriel Santiago (he, him) was born and raised in Ponce, PR. Developing in the tropical complexity of cultures and history he recognized an affiliation with music and culture while learning to play the guitar and sing from an early age. Later on he engaged in a spiritual seeking journey exploring different approaches to contemplative practices, philosophies, and practices spanning through ancestral traditions from Eastern Traditions and South American origin. As he embarked in this journey he came to Boulder to study Transpersonal Counseling Psychology at Naropa University. He currently lives in Lafayette, CO and has a private practice where he works with members of the Global majority in the area.

Following his experiences in his spiritual seeking journey, and his professional background he engages in the exploration of ancestry through connection with his family roots while exploring written historical accounts, as well as inner guidance from ancestral guidance. In this regard Gabriel continues to explore the phenomena of colonization, its psychology and ways to move through the challenges that this entails for our modern society.
About Naiya -
Naiya Sarah (she/they) is a ceremonialist, grief activist, educator, and integration guide specializing in transformative journeys focused on remembrance. Through her work, she fosters individual and collective connections with ancestral lineages and the Earth, helping individuals remember their lineage and their place within the larger tapestry of life. Drawing from her heritage of Sicilian and Ashkenazi Jewish lineages, as well as her time spent studying with Meso-American, South-American, and West African traditions, Naiya employs a diverse range of modalities. Some of these modalities include indigenous wisdoms, plant medicines, IFS, systemic constellations, transpersonal psychology, non-dual tantra, and somatic-focused psychotherapies to guide individuals in navigating grief, reconnecting with lineage, and integrating non-ordinary states. Her dedication to honoring ancestral legacy, embracing cultural traditions, and weaving a future rooted in liberation for all and reciprocity is at the heart of her work. Naiya works with people both in private practice and in group ceremony settings, creating sacred spaces for healing and collective remembrance.
