October is Dyslexia Awareness Month and we are celebrating with a month full of opportunities. Come learn and grow with us!

On Saturday, October 2nd 9:30a.m. - 12:30p.m. meet our Keynote Speakers:

Connie Risser, NILD national speaker covering: What is Dyslexia and the Building Blocks of Learning. Learn the characteristics of dyslexia and how the building blocks of learning impact a student's ability to learn.

Dr. Nancy Mather, Co-Author of the Woodcock-Johnson IV: Assessment of Dyslexia. Learn about how to assess for dyslexia and some of the challenges evaluators face in making an accurate diagnosis.

We are offering our breakout sessions in 4 weekly webinars every Wednesday 6:00p.m.-7:30p.m. Covering: Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Science of Reading (SoR) and Orton-Gillingham.

  • Wednesday, October 6th: Dr. Kim Zeydel, What is Dyscalculia? Dyscalculia affects 5-7% of our students. Learn what the characteristics of dyscalculia are and some hands-on activities to help these children learn math.
  • Wednesday, October 13th: Dr. Sally Brown, The Science of Reading - Making a Difference for Students. Understanding the science of reading is essential when supporting and designing reading instruction for all students especially those with reading difficulties including dyslexia. This session will outline the definition of the science of reading and provide an overview of seminal research and how this understanding contributes to teacher knowledge and effectiveness, selection of curriculum materials, and implementation of instruction and intervention.
  • Wednesday, October 20th: Karyn Kilpatrick-Snell, What We Need To Teach and When To Teach It. Let's explore skills needed and strategies to use to create skilled readers. Participates will walk away with practical information and resources to implement in the classroom, home, or private practice.
  • Wednesday, October 27th: Connie Risser, Rhythmic Writing and Dysgraphia. Learn how to use Rhythmic Writing and Cursive Writing to help children with Dyslexia and Dysgraphia.

Attendees will receive access to all live keynote sessions, recordings of the live keynote sessions and access to live weekly webinars and recordings of live weekly webinars throughout the month of October. This annual summit will benefit everyone! Educators, healthcare professionals, and parents alike!
