In the 19th century, stories such as A Christmas Carol and poems such as ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas added to the holiday becoming a massive cultural phenomenon and popularized the holiday’s spirit of giving to those in need and the whole concept of what Santa Claus means to so many children today.
In this festive tour, travel back in time to Victorian Winnipeg and learn how Victorians celebrated Christmas by playing dangerous parlour games, eating lots of candy, and carolling—pretty similar to today!
