Understanding what your next step looks like can be difficult, which is why our open events are designed with you in mind. At our open events, you will receive all the information, advice and guidance you need to choose what the next step in your journey looks like.

Our open events are perfect if:

• You're in your final year of school (parents welcome)
• You're looking to gain qualifications - no matter your age
• You're interested in learning more about the different types of courses available
• You're interested in a university-level or degree programme at our University Centre
• You want to speak to a Careers Advisor
• You have questions abour Learner Support or SEN
• You have questions about funding

• Adult short courses

About the Event

You can book to arrive between 4:30pm - 5:15pm or 5:15pm - 6:00pm.

Please note: only the enquiring student needs to book a ticket. If the student is accompanied by guests, this can be indicated within the registration form. Please complete all stages of the registration process. Once completed, you will receive a confirmation email including a QR code.

1. Arrive onsite: our open events take place at our Main Campus. There is free car parking available. When arriving onsite, follow signs for 'Main Reception' - you'll be greeted by event staff here.
2. Check-in: have your QR code ready - this makes checking in super easy and helps speed things along.
3. Information, advice and guidance: you will have the opportunity to speak to as many subject areas as you like. If you're unsure, we have our Advice, Support, Careers (ASC) Team on hand, as well as Learner Support Team, too.
4. Receive an offer: we do our best to ensure you leave the open event with an offer for a place at NCD. If we aren't able to make you an offer on the day, i.e. we need you to meet with a particular tutor or if the event is particularly busy, then you will be invited back in to 'Meet the Tutor'.

Need help at the event or have any additional questions? Ask our event staff - we're easy to identify; just look for someone in a purple NCD shirt or hoodie!

At our open event, you'll also be able to take a look around our amazing campus, getting a real sense for what life would be like as a student at New College Durham.
