For those of you that are new around here... Mike Gudat and Brad Stegall of Acceleration Ventures welcome you! They both started investing in their early 20's by house hacking duplexes. Mike has been involved with the acquisition or sale of over 1,000 units. Brad and Mike currently control over 475 residential units in and around Peoria and over $8M in commercial real estate. They are also underway with a vacation rental development in San Pedro, Belize.
For December, we are pleased to announce that Casey Baldovin will be sharing with us. Casey started working construction as a teenager and later joined P.J. Hoerr where he learned everything about construction. Baldovin Construction was born while Casey was still working his day job. Baldovin became known for quality craftsmanship and being forward-thinking. He knew how to do hip designs and think outside the box. As his residential business grew, he started landing high-profile commercial work. He completely gutted a dentist office and changed the entire look. Then he designed the interior of Slow Hand Craft BBQ and overhauled Childers Eatery on University. He finally left his job in 2016 and thats when he got started in development with "The Block". Working with The Kim Group he rehabilitated 5 historic buildings that would later be anchored by Venue Chisca.
Last November, Casey purchased the historic Federal Building and the adjoining Mitchell Fabrics building located across from Zion Coffee. He is developing the area into a mix of commercial and residential with 90-100 apartment units. The Adams & Oak project is massive and we will be able to hear about his vision and where things are going. We will also be able to hear the lessons he has learned while scaling his business from a side hustle to what it has become today.
We will still allow plenty of time for networking at the beginning and the end of the meetup. Remember our mission: We want to help investors get started. We want to help connect people to find deals. We want to teach people about creative financing. We want to help everyone win big with real estate investing. We will plan to meet on the second Tuesday of every month.
Lunch will be served during the meeting and you will pay Warehouse on State directly.
