Debajito

The Commons welcomes back a local favorite band - Debajito for an incredible night of live music, community and culture. However, this event is extra special because a portion of the proceeds go to supporting an amazing local organization - HACE.

Debajito is a lively, danceable, multi-instrumental, borderless, multilingual band that fuses Latin hip hop with music from South America and the Caribbean (cumbia, reggae, reggaeton, ska, son, Andean music, and more). They are part of the Debajo del Agua music collective.

HACE (Hispanic Association for Community and Education) HACE's mission is to support upper-division college students in Butte County who have not only excelled academically, but have also contributed to the Hispanic community in and around Chico.

HACE's assistance and recognition encourages students to overcome any potential barriers that might discourage them from graduating. We believe that all students, regardless of race or ethnicity, deserve an opportunity to follow their dreams.

HACE has awarded over 100 scholarships since its inception in 1984. This year marks the 40th year anniversary of HACE and we are thrilled to continue awarding scholarships and building community in Butte County for the past 40 years.
