Death Wander at Albany Rural Cemetery: A Moving Death Cafe
About this Event
A death cafe doesn't have to happen around a table. This one happens on foot, among the headstones and old trees of Albany Rural Cemetery.
Death is part of life, and life is part of death. The more comfortable we get talking about it, the better we can care for our own lives and meet death when it arrives, ours or someone else's. That's the spirit behind this walk.
Join doulas from the Thin Veil Death Collaborative and talk about whatever end-of-life questions are sitting with you: fear, planning, grief, curiosity, or nothing in particular. No experience or belief system required. Just a willingness to walk slowly and talk honestly.
No pressure, no agenda. Come curious, leave with a little more peace about the whole thing.
This event is free, but we ask that you RSVP so we can plan for the group.
Meet at the crematorium lot. Wear shoes you can walk in; the cemetery paths are uneven in places. If it's raining, bring an umbrella!
