This mixer is an antidote to awkwardness at public events for grieving folks.
About this Event

Do you ever find yourself being the "Death of the Party" because your story includes the death of someone significant to you? Come find community with fellow queers who have also experienced this loss. Ages 22+.

Unique ice-breakers, cool stickers, and an antique typewriter will be included. Bring your sense of humor and your baggage. There will be conversations for the extroverts, book perusal for the introverts, and beverage options for the ambiverts.

All types of connections will be encouraged at the mixer; not all conversations must be about grief. Whatever your level of comfort with speaking about your grief, please join us!

The intention of this mixer is to cultivate a community and connections among queer folks who understand each other in a way that those who haven't experienced the death of someone close cannot. It is not a traditional support group, death cafe, or grief counseling. At the event, we will crowdsource for grief resources to share with those looking for additional support. Bluestockings currently requires masks at events and we ask that you comply with these rules during this event.
