Death Café Calgary
About this Event
A death café is an informal gathering of people who want to talk about anything death-related. It is a safe space where all opinions, questions and curiosities are welcomed. It is not a space to promote or sell products or services, or to push a personal agenda. People arrive at the venue - a coffee shop or restaurant, and like any informal gathering, groups are organically created based on peoples' interests or age groups or questions. There is no structure and no format. People are free to come and go as they please. If you arrive late, please be respectful when joining a group and the conversation in progress.
Death Cafés are common in many countries, but here in death-phobic North America and Canada they are practically unheard of. As a passionate death-enthusiast, my goal is to bring out the death-enthusiasts here in Calgary to meet, get to know each other, and bring down the curtain that hides death.
There is no cost to attend a death café, except for the cost of whatever you purchase to consume.
