Death Cafe

A Death Café is a group-directed discussion over warm beverages and snacks. The objective is to practice the art of talking openly about our own mortality so as to make the most of our finite lives. Anyone of any age, background, spiritual belief (or lack thereof!) is welcome to attend as the results are enriched by the variety of participants. Let's break the taboo, together.

This event is presented by Chicago Death Doula Collective. A new and growing network of death doulas and death workers. We provide Chicagoans with holistic, inclusive and accessible death care and education while demystifying death.

CDDC President Alejandro Salinas will be our host. He has held Death Cafés since 2017 and creator of The Coffin Cards. He is an avid advocate for grief and has a passion for exploring death, dreams, dying, and the afterlife.

This is a donation based event. No one is turned away and all are welcome. Feel free to bring snacks for everyone to share.
