About this Event
are you interested in talking about death or hearing others share their stories? join this pop-up queer death cafe – typically described as a discussion group with no agenda, objectives, or themes except to welcome in conversations about death in an accessible, respectful, and confidential space. masks will be required for this gathering.
join us Saturday, February 22nd, 3-5pm at Quince Coffee House to explore being in community and activily sharing/listening in a death cafe* format. Be a part of the discussion around death, dying, grief, and loss. Bring your heart, ears, and willingness to share/listen to others.
*a death cafe is not a grief support, counselling, or support group.
tickets: tickets are free – RSVP required with very limited spots, if you cannot attend let us know right away so someone else will have the opportunity.

Physical Space
- the space has one single-stall, all-gender restroom. It is wide enough to accommodate mobility aids.
- the event will include seating indoors on wooden chairs.
- The shop is wheelchair accessible with a wooden ramp and wide doorways.

- Dietary options with gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free options for both food and drinks!
Masking
- Quince does not require customers to mask however, this is a masking-only event in a private room!
meet-up description: death & grief queer meet-up provides cozy spaces for queer and trans community to gather in mutual grief. we focus on a variety of themes and activities each month to explore what community grieving can look like. while we’re not a support group, our intention is to build community, learn new ways to express and understand our grief, and cultivate joy while de-stigmatizing conversations of death and beyond.
about the host: nat (she/they) is a business-trained, community-minded, aspiring death care worker focused on creating spaces for connection and empowerment. Nat's goal is to foster normalcy with grievers of all kind by inviting in the ideas that death and grief are all around us. Nat explores the concepts of interworlds, storytelling, and holding space for sharing with community in their podcast called Still Crying: Befriending Grief and Havin' Fun. about the coordinator: sky (they/them) is a queer autistic non-binary artist, tattooer, plant friend practitioner, and aspiring death guide. their intention for death & grief queer meet-up is to bring those moving through grief together, normalize collaborative conversation of death, and offer resources to community. this gathering is not a support group.
