Què passa quan un cabirol dissecat observa el Pavelló de Mies van der Rohe? Aquesta és la pregunta que travessa Dear Mies, el projecte de l’artista Setxu Xirau Roig, que es presentarà al Pavelló el proper 6 d’octubre en una conversa amb l’artista Domènec.
Partint d’una sèrie de fotografies realitzades al Pavelló amb un cabirol naturalitzat, el projecte proposa una reflexió sobre els límits entre natura i artifici, interior i exterior, representació i realitat. Les imatges dialoguen amb referències a artistes com Joseph Beuys o Jannis Kounellis, així com amb la història del mateix Pavelló i la seva condició d’espai de representació.
La conversa amb Domènec reprèn algunes de les qüestions que l’artista ja havia plantejat a la seva intervenció L’estadi, el pavelló i el palau (2018), ampliant la reflexió sobre la relació entre arquitectura, memòria, escenografia i construcció cultural de la natura.
Amb motiu de la presentació, Setxu Xirau Roig mostrarà també alguns dels animals naturalitzats presents en el projecte, en una acció puntual concebuda específicament per a aquesta trobada.

¿Qué sucede cuando un corzo disecado observa el Pabellón Mies van der Rohe? Esta es la pregunta que atraviesa Dear Mies, el proyecto del artista Setxu Xirau Roig, que se presentará en el Pabellón el próximo 6 de octubre en una conversación con el artista Domènec.
Partiendo de una serie de fotografías realizadas en el Pabellón con un corzo naturalizado, el proyecto propone una reflexión sobre los límites entre naturaleza y artificio, interior y exterior, representación y realidad. Las imágenes dialogan con referencias a artistas como Joseph Beuys o Jannis Kounellis, así como con la historia del propio Pabellón y su condición de espacio de representación.
La conversación con Domènec retoma algunas de las cuestiones que el artista ya había planteado en su intervención El estadio, el pabellón y el palacio (2018), ampliando la reflexión sobre la relación entre arquitectura, memoria, escenografía y construcción cultural de la naturaleza.
Con motivo de la presentación, Setxu Xirau Roig mostrará también algunos de los animales naturalizados presentes en el proyecto, en una acción puntual concebida específicamente para este encuentro.

Dear Mies van der Rohe, Setxu Xirau Roig
What happens when a taxidermied roe deer looks at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion? This is the question at the heart of Dear Mies, the project that artist Setxu Xirau Roig will present at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion on 6 October in conversation with artist Domènec.
Based on a series of photographs taken at the Pavilion with a taxidermied roe deer, the project reflects on the boundaries between nature and artifice, interior and exterior, representation and reality. The images engage with references to artists such as Joseph Beuys and Jannis Kounellis, as well as with the history of the Pavilion itself and its role as a space of representation.
The conversation with Domènec revisits some of the questions the artist had already raised in his intervention L’estadi, el pavelló i el palau (2018), expanding the reflection on the relationship between architecture, memory, scenography and the cultural construction of nature.
On the occasion of the presentation, Setxu Xirau Roig will also display some of the taxidermied animals featured in the project, in a one-off intervention conceived specifically for this event.
