Description of Event:

Join us for a dynamic and inclusive event celebrating the fusion of physical wellbeing and how it ties into your mental health. The first part of the program will be interactive, where each fitness specialist will be facilitating a short demonstration of their "art"/ training style. We welcome everyone to participate! The second portion of the program will be a panel and Q&A moderated by nonprofit Dear Community and joined by our trainers and Kaiser Permanente mental health expert.


About the Panel of Creatives:

Nat Viranond Nat is a Southern California native that moved to the Bay Area to pursue his passion in fitness. He found fitness as his outlet when he was incarserated and has transformed that into his career. Nat is a movement specialist with extensive experience training a diverse group of clientele including high level athletes, weekend warriors and the inexperienced beginners. He specializes in making his clients move better so that they feel better in their everyday lives. His qualifications include (KI) Kinstretch Instructor, (FRCMS) Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialist, (FRA) Functional Range Assessment.

Claire Lee Claire is a South Korea native and now Bay Area resident. In 2014, her mother's breast cancer diagnosis led her to value exercise for health over appearance and thus she began her fitness calling. Claire is a fierce advocate for women's weight lifting and has expanded her expertise to pilates, earning a certification to teach reformer pilates to busy professionals. Recently, Claire has blended her fitness passion with her skills in software engineering and digital marketing to help fitness studios enhance their digital presence, offering solutions for client management and payment systems. Her journey is a testament to how personal challenges can inspire professional innovation.

Hudson Liao Hudson is a San Francisco native and the founder of nonprofit, Asian Are Strong. He teaches free self defense to vulnerable members of the Asian American community and is passionate about forging strong relationships with API elders and youth. He is a KEEN board member, a nonprofit that Empowers Youth with Disabilities Through Inclusive Recreation & Fitness Programs. From high school football and wrestling to combat sports and firefighting in college- Hudson has always been active. He is a Stop Asian Hate activist, martial arts student and the community's big brother.

Keani Flores Keani is a San Francisco native and certified sports nutritionist and personal trainer. She helps heal people through individualized programming that corrects imbalances and relieves tension in order to restore the body. Keani believes everyone has the capability to heal themselves and that no person should live in pain or feel restricted in their own body. She encourages everyone to take care of both their mind and body as they are both vital in the healing process.

Dr. Bradley Siu, Psy.D. (Kaiser Permanente) is a licensed clinical psychologist of 20 years and has brought compassionate healing to individuals and families of nearly all generations and backgrounds. With his wide range of experience as a clinical supervisor, training director, and consultant, he has worked and supported countless complex needs.

With formal training in Nutrition, Trauma, EMDR, Executive Coaching, DBT, Neurofeedback, and Biofeedback, Dr. Siu’s integrated and holistic approach allow him to capture the dynamic complexities of how our intergenerational biology intersect with experiences that influence our development and behavior.


About the Venue:

Urban Land Development opened MELA Lounge, Sanskrit for “gathering place,” in the heart of Union Square at 150 Post. Photo and Recordings Grant. I hereby grant to Dear Community, and anyone authorized by Dear Community, permission to:

(a) photograph and record me on film, videotape, audiotape, digital media or otherwise (the "Photographs and Recordings");

(b) use the Photographs and Recordings of me obtained by Dear Community;

(c) edit and modify any existing or resulting Photographs and Recordings; and

(d) use and distribute such Photographs and Recordings, in whole or in part, together with my name, likeness, voice, story, comments, and persona, in any manner or media and for the purpose of supporting Dear Community, as determined by Dear Community in its sole discretion. I represent and warrant that I have all rights necessary to grant such permission as set forth herein and that no infringement or violation of any third party rights will result from the use of my name, likeness, voice, story, comments, or persona as captured in the Photographs and Recordings. I understand and agree that Dear Community will own all rights of any kind in the Photographs and Recordings, and that I will retain no rights therein. I further understand that Dear Community shall have no obligation to make any use of the Photographs or Recordings and that all rights granted herein are fully sub-licensable and assignable.


Waiver and Release. I assume all of the risks of attending and/or volunteering and serving as a volunteer for Dear Community, and I agree that Dear Community shall not be liable for any injury, illness, or damage to person or property that may arise during the course of performing such volunteer activities or attendance via Dear Community’s use of Photographs and Recordings. On behalf of me and my assigns, heirs, legal representatives, executors, agents, and any organization or entity with which I am affiliated, I hereby agree to DEFEND, INDEMNIFY, RELEASE AND DISCHARGE DEAR COMMUNITY and its directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, and successors (collectively, the “Released Parties”) FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, LIABILITIES, RIGHTS, DEBTS, SUITS, COMPLAINTS, PROMISES, CROSS-CLAIMS, CONTROVERSIES, DAMAGES, AND/OR DISPUTES asserted or unasserted, known or unknown, that arise in any way from: (1) my participation as an attendee and/or volunteer for Dear Community, (2) out of or in connection with the use of my name, likeness, voice, story, comments, or persona, or any of the content I provide in the Photographs and Recordings, or (3) the breach or alleged breach of any of the representations or warranties I make in this grant and release. This waiver and release is irrevocable, Dear Community may proceed in reliance thereon, and I agree that I will not be entitled to injunctive relief that would interfere with the use or other exploitation of the Photographs and Recordings. I understand that I will not be entitled to any compensation for the permission and release granted herein or for any use of the Photographs and Recordings. I hereby attest that I have read, and agree, to the above statements upon sign-up.
