Tickets are now on sale for the Watertown Players’ upcoming production of Dear Camp. This will be the Wisconsin premiere of this comedy, which is written by Lisa MacDonald. Advance tickets can be purchased for $15 at Piggly Wiggly, 1330 Memorial Drive, Watertown, or by calling the Watertown Players Box Office at (920)306-4364. Tickets will also be available at the door for $20 until the house is sold out. The show will be performed at The Watertown Players Theater, 210 S Water St (in the Market), Watertown, on November 7 ,8, 14, and 15 at 7:00 pm and November 16 at 2:00 pm.The cast of the show includes: Diane Schultz as Hildy; Jennie Ortega as Bev; Linda Ewert as Jo; Lisa Steffl as Natalie; Jeff Boyce as Gary; and Blaine Landowski as Johnson. The show is under the direction of Jim Steffl, with Claire Maas as Stage Manager, Elizabeth Boxell as the producer, and Blaine Landowski as Technical Director.
The original story, written by Lisa MacDonald, is set on an island in the remote white pine forests of northern Michigan. It follows Hildy, a grieving widow, and her sometimes contentious friends, as they gather in a secluded cabin. The group’s mission is to prepare the cabin for an imminent sale. However, their plans take an unexpected turn due to an overabundance of alcohol, a surprise blizzard, and the discovery of a personal diary belonging to Hildy’s late husband. The mystery deepens as the diary reveals a long-hidden secret: a relationship with someone named Cupcake.
