Hard to pin down to a particular genre, Dean’s songs are a unique blend of Americana and Scottish roots - the unfettered enthusiasm of a rock’n’roller combined with the sympathetic delivery of folk’s best storytellers. His fans include authors Irvine Welsh and Ian Rankin, and BBC legend Bob Harris.
Dean’s travels have taken him from the grit and dust of Scotland’s post industrial heartlands to the panoramic vistas of the US deserts where he recorded his stunning Sinner’s Shrine album with desert noir icons Calexico, adding nuances of Latin notes to his musical palette.
