Come learn about how to manage drought conditions and how you can make your farm more drought resilient for the future.
About this Event

This workshop will include speakers from Alberta Environment and Protected Areas, Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation and Red Deer County Staff to cover a variety of resources to help you manage drought conditions on your farm. Topics will include:

  • Water Access & Emergency Supports
    Provincial programs to help producers access water during dry conditions, including temporary livestock water assistance, water licences, approvals, and temporary diversion licenses.
  • Agricultural Water Programs
    Funding and support for on‑farm water development, and long‑term water solutions.
  • On‑the‑Ground Stewardship Solutions
    How ALUS Red Deer County can support landowners with pasture, livestock, and crop resilience during dry conditions.
  • Fire Risk & Emergency Preparedness
    What dry conditions mean for wildfire risk in agricultural areas and how to prepare and reduce hazards.
  • Mental Health & Community Supports
    Resources and support for managing stress, uncertainty, and mental health impacts related to drought.

Supper is included and will start at 5:30. Presentations to follow at 6PM
