Deaf Night Out into Night Deaf Beach Party!
12-4 POTLUCK-no glass (earlier classes to benefit DNO)
4-9pm FIRE PIT (clean up & trash out yourself)
WHAT: BRING COAT, BLANKETS, WOOD, & DRINKS
WHERE: Near STAIRS labeled number 16.

Please be aware if there may be a 'spare the air day' we may have to cancel the fire pit; but, will still go to beach.

A DIFFERENT EVENT to help fund us:
Potluck If your last name: a-f: bring main dish, g-n: salad, o-u: Veg, v-z: dessert. IF YOU BRING FOOD it must be pre-cooked.
BYO everything; BLANKETS, COATS, games, football or volleyball net. NO GLASS.

Where:
Warm up around the bonfire; the fire pits are located at the north end of the beach and are easy to access. This is an ideal spot for a group outing as there’s ample space and lots of convenient PARKING.
-Safeway Store close by on La Playa St. corner of Fulton St. -Beach Chalet Restaurant (closest bathrooms) on Great Highway
-Windmill on John F. Kenedy Drive.
BUS: For those of you without a car, or who prefer public transportation,.. The best Bus to take from downtown BART is MUNI 5.

HEARING ASL STUDENTS PLEASE READ:
The Deaf community welcomes you to learn ASL.
But, please do not take up space of Deaf or hard of hearing. Please step aside and make room. This not only means at a table but also in general... Also, please do not interrupt in-depth conversations. It is appropriate to ask during a break in conversation if you need clarification. But, if it is a private conversation do not interrupt.
Deaf space is reserved for ASL ONLY. It is reserved for Deaf, Deaf Blind, and hard of hearing.
We ask you to be respectful of the space we desperately need. Meaning use ASL and do not use voice.
We live in a hearing world 24/7 and we need a space where we can just be ourselves. With this in mind, no voicing unless by interpreter.
Absolutely NO VOICING during chat or social times.
ASL Allies are welcome but, if you come to social do not expect people to slow down their signing. Asking for clarification is ok.
But, if you still don't understand after continued clarification then sit back and absorb and don't interrupt conversations.
ASL Allies please continue to help us build a safe and fun space (e.g.: hearing CODA, ASL students, hearing partners or hearing interpreters)! Thank you for your understanding and support!
