Join us for our February Science Pub event, where Jason Kruse will present on how faunal (animal) remains are analyzed at archaeological sites to help determine type and utilization, followed by a hands-on experience!This is a family-friendly event, and Severance now serves Sunny's pizzas in the taproom!
Jason Kruse is a Sioux Falls resident who graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in anthropology and a graduate degree in anthropology and paleontology. Jason worked for the University of South Dakota from 1999 to 2003 and then Augustana University from 2005 to 2021, where his primary interests were identifying and analyzing faunal assemblages from archaeological sites. Wanting to experience his sons growing up, he retired from field archaeology in 2021 and is currently working an extremely flexible and comfortable job as an environmental consultant for operation and maintenance projects for existing utility infrastructure across the Midwest.
