What is Sound Therapy? ??
Sound Therapy is an ancient healing modality used by different cultures as a way of supporting physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Sound healing entrains brainwaves, inducing a state of relaxation, calmness, and emotional release and has been shown to be effective in helping depression, anxiety, reducing general stress levels, lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, aiding pain management, improving sleep, and strengthening the immune system.
A sound bath is called so because the soundwaves wash over a person, harmonising and balancing the emotions, and bringing equilibrium to heart, mind, and spirit. Participants can remain seated or lay on the floor with yoga mats and cushions, keeping their eyes open or closed during the experience. A range of different resonant sound instruments that produce harmonic vibrations are used including crystal singing/Tibetan bowls, crystal harp, drums, chimes, gongs and voice as a means of creating an environment that can inspire healing, creativity, and focus for an individual.
Sounds baths are an effective addition to any healing or wellness program and for people of all ages and backgrounds.
