Join the Temescal Telegraph Business Improvement District (TTBID) staff and District Ambassadors for a free outdoor de-escalation training. This event will be led by TTBID Operations Director, Joey Harrison, who is also the Executive Director of The Village of Love, a nonprofit organization that provides compassionate care and resources to unsheltered residents throughout the East Bay.
In 2019, the TTBID initiated the now permanent Community Engagement Program where Operations staff and Ambassadors engage with all members of the Temescal Community and provide a sense of hospitality, safety and assistance to deal with quality of life issues, as well as providing a welcoming presence in the Temescal District.
As part of this program, you are invited to participate in the upcoming training provided by the Temescal BID Operations Director Joey Harrison on how to compassionately and respectfully interact with people experiencing homelessness and mental health issues, and learn general de-escalation strategies and tips. This session will also provide attendees with an overview of the BID's community engagement program, and opportunities to ask questions.
