For 38 years, Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day has grown into the largest conference in the nation dedicated to developmental disabilities. Over the decades, we have welcomed outstanding keynote speakers, engaging entertainment, an inspiring art room, a vibrant vendor fair, awards presentations, the Healthy You Corner, and so much more. Most importantly, DD Day thrives because of the presenters, individuals, families, and professionals from across Western New York who work together to create a comprehensive and informative conference each year.

Continuing this proud tradition, we are pleased to announce the 38th Annual Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day Conference and Fair, to be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Niagara Falls Convention Center.

Professionals from a wide range of local agencies specializing in developmental disability services—along with representatives from related health and wellness fields—will be available to offer guidance, resources, literature, and general information about the services their organizations provide.

DD Day has long been a cornerstone of the WNY developmental disabilities community, bringing together regional agencies, industry-connected vendors and suppliers, direct support professionals, and the individuals they support.

During the luncheon, several awards will be presented, including Personal Achievement, Direct Service Provider of the Year, Community Service of the Year, and Caregiver of the Year. Award recipients may include professionals, organizations, and individuals with developmental disabilities. The luncheon will once again be hosted by a local celebrity.

The day will also feature an art show spotlighting the work of talented local artists with disabilities, the Healthy You forum, and entertainment by Universal Minds during the event reception.
