DCDC Youth Golf Program & Tournament - The Big Swing

The Davenport Community Development Corporation empowers young people to build strong character through our innovative approach that combines golf with a life skills curriculum. Our goal is to cultivate inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience in kids, and develop Game Changers who have the skills and mindset to succeed in all areas of life. Each student registrant must have a 3.0 or better grade average verified by the School Administrator in writing.

Our developmental training days for junior golfers provide an opportunity to practice and improve their skills. Students are divided into skill levels during practice days which take place for weeks on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 5 pm until 9 pm, beginning on June 19th and ending on Friday, July 28th, 2023.

Training days include golf instruction, practice with our coaches, fun games, and contests, and achievement pins and prizes are awarded weekly. Practice days are held on Thursday or Friday mornings and last for two hours. Our practice days provide a unique learning environment that fosters personal growth and development, providing young people with the tools they need to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
