DCCS Amazing Race 2022

When: Saturday, April 30, 2022 - meet at 9 am.

Where: Runners meet at Franklin Park - 1332 I Street, Northwest - meet right in the middle by the fountain. Mcpherson Square and Farragut Square Metro stations nearby.

What: Teams of 5 runners solve clues together. Run to those sites. Take a groupie photo in front of that site. Check off as many sites as you can visit. The last clue is a destination that serves food and drink. We will celebrate together and announce a group winner. The group winner will be the first team that gets to the last destination and also has a groupie photo of the team together at each clue. Each team should have a captain in charge of taking the group photos.

Why: DCCS has offered two group events each year (minus pandemic) since 2010. These included both the annual winter Holiday Lights Run and the spring Amazing Race. We offer these events to local DC runners and we also typically raise money for charities. We will announce what charity we are raising money for this event and how to donate if you wish.

Recommendation: Bring clothes appropriate for the weather and maybe run with a backpack full of clothes you can change into after while we eat and drink at the last destination. Pack your metro card. Please don't bring any valuables. There will NOT be a place for you to store anything. What you bring, you will have to run with unless someone on your team parks a vehicle nearby Franklin Park. Remember, this is a FUN event! While its a race, you should really enjoy yourself. There is no prize money or awards given. SAFETY is very important so PLEASE pay attention out there to other people, walkers, dogs, bikers, cars, buses, etc.
