ABSTRACTION 2023Greetings Artsy Souls!
We, from DCCACC, are glad to announce the launching of our forthcoming, idiosyncratic Art Festival "Abstraction-2023". We are inviting you to our first ever national ART festival. After going through such an immaculate worldwide crisis, we DESERVE to experience something in contrast to the chaos & mania. Something which can help us veer out from the cruel realism of this world & let us breathe openly for a second. And what good answers can there be other than the pioneering Art? Art is something which really transcends between reality & opens a door for a new world, a world that is made by the artists themselves. So why don't you take a leap in this vividity & forget the monotony of this monochromatic world for a second! Express the abstraction that your soul carries! Flourish your creativity like nowhere else. Come join us in the world of abstraction, where there is no ceiling for inspiration!

This is an Inter college event. Only Higher Secondary students (HSC 22, HSC 23, HSC 24) can participate in this event.

?Traditional Art?
Every community has their own set of skills, patterns & knowledge which are passed down from generation to generation. This is the sector of bringing life to your creativity through colors. From landscapes and sceneries to portraits and abstract drawing, it's all welcomed! Now artists have to bring those skills and patterns into their artworks with their own creative themes!
★Rules:
⭕Theme: Any creative theme!
⭕Canvas/Artwork Size: limited within 15”/15”(max)
⭕Medium: Every medium of color (acrylic, water color, colored pencils, poster colors etc) is welcomed!
⭕Participants must frame their artworks before submitting for the exhibition. Only selected framed artworks or canvas paintings will be exhibited. All the artworks will be counted for judgment .
?★Champion,1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up will receive an achievement certificate & a crest.

? Mandala?
Mandala is an art form that takes the liberty to use all of those mind bending geometrical shapes to create or express oneself . Mandala is all about hatching and shading maintaining a particular symmetry and pattern. These bold expressive designs are not only catchy but hold a certain historical value all well!
★Rules:
⭕Theme: Any creative theme.
⭕Size: limited within 15”/15” (max)
⭕Medium: Participants can use markers, pen, pencil, ink etc for traditional mandalas. Colored and dot mandalas using any color medium are welcomed too!
⭕ Participants must frame their artworks before submitting for the exhibition. Only selected framed artworks or canvas paintings will be exhibited. All the artworks will be counted for judgment.

?Sketch?
By sketch nowadays we basically mean the drawing done with pen and pencil. Although there have been many changes in the course of time, the matter of suddenly picking up the pencil, sketching and filling the paper with the happiness of that mind is the same as before.
★Rules:
⭕Theme: No distinctive theme.
⭕Size: Limited within 15”/15”(max)
⭕Medium: Has to be in graphite/ Ink/ charcoal medium. Colored sketch falls under the Traditional Art category.
⭕ Participants must frame their artworks before submitting for the exhibition. Only selected framed artworks or canvas artworks will be exhibited. All the artworks will be counted for judgment.

?Cartoon and Comic?
Cartooning is preaching. Now it's the time for some preaching. In the midst of the vagaries of life, they provide us a trip to the land of goodness, fairies and joys of imaginations and possibilities.
This segment is divided into 2 categories. A participant can participate in only one category of this segment.
?Cartoon:
⭕Rules:
⭕Design a cartoon character from your imagination. It maybe a funny character, villain or someone inspired from the real world.
⭕Write a short description /intro about your drawn character.
⭕It can be hand drawn or digitally drawn.
?Comic:
⭕Rules:
⭕Make a comic based on a story of your own or a reference story.
⭕Page limit : Maximum 3 pages.
⭕Character : Unlimited.
⭕Theme: There is no distinctive theme.
⭕It can be hand drawn or digitally drawn.
★Champion & The 1st runners-up will receive achievement certificate & a crest. 2nd runners-up will receive a crest and achievement certificate.

?Calligraphy and Typography?
Calligraphy is highly referred to painting , a beautiful stylized or elegant lettering with a pen or brush and ink which involves specific structure of characters and semblance of proportions .Wheres Typography is an art involving font style, appearance and structure which are mixed in a way to make the copy readable and visually appealing to the reader.
Rules:
⭕Theme: Any creative themes!
⭕Size: limited within :20"/20"(max)
⭕Medium: Every medium of color or ink are welcomed!
⭕ Participants must frame their artworks before submitting for the exhibition. Only selected framed artworks or canvas paintings will be exhibited. All the artworks will be counted for judgment.

?Digital Art?
It is very common for digital artists to utilize the functions of blender, adobe illustrator or photoshop and various other softwares to create 2D paintings and we will consider them under this category.
Rules:
⭕You will have to rename your finished art as "DigitalArt_name_institute_phone number"(example: DigitalArt_Muhit_DCC_018********)
⭕Image format has to be in PNG.
⭕Pixels are limited to 300dpi, ratio 4:3 or 3:4 and the image size has to be within 50 mb.
⭕Participants can submit maximum of 1 digital artwork.
⭕WATERMARK or BORDER is not allowed.

?Photo Manipulation ?
A form of digital art that revolves around transformation and alteration of a photograph by using software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to make it an eye soothing piece.
Rules:
⭕Source image has to be clicked by yourself.
⭕You can use stock image for manipulation references but plagiarism is not allowed.
⭕You will have to rename your finished art as "PhotoManipulation_name_institute_phone number"(example:PhotoManipulation_Muhit_DCC_018********)
⭕Image format has to be in PNG, (You have to add the original image which you will manipulate. Like - before, after.)
⭕WATERMARK or BORDER is not allowed
⭕Pixels are limited to 300dpi and the image size has to be within 50 mb.
⭕Participants can submit maximum 1 digital artwork.

?Craft Competition?
Craft is a type of art that generally refers to the assembly of handmade goods. This event is a chance to showcase your handicrafts, miniatures, models, papercraft and so on!
Rules:
⭕A participant can submit only 1 craftwork.
⭕The craftwork size shouldn’t be more than 2 feet & shouldn’t weigh more than 2kg.
⭕There are no distinctive themes.
⭕Any type of crafts made with paper/cardboard type materials are allowed.
⭕Paper models of famous structures are appreciated too.
⭕Themes- Glass painting, Glass work, Resin works, paper crafts, model making etc.
?Champion, 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up will receive an achievement certificate & a crest.

Do you love to visit your precious memories by attaching tons of paper ,crafts and writings into your diary ? Because that is the very idea of the scrapbook we fancy today. To showcase your talent just follow the rules below!

⭕There are no distinctive themes. It is all about preserving memories
⭕Participants are free to use any type of materials they would like to. No restrictions there.

Photography is all about capturing moments through any device we have access to! It is an extraordinary way of preserving memories and has a significant place in our lives for that.
This segment is divided into two categories:
??Mobile Photography?
Anything you find worth capturing in that small electronic device in your pocket!
Rules :
⭕You will have to rename your photo as "Mobilephotography_name_institute_phone number"(example:Mobilephotography_Muhit_DCC_018********)
⭕Image format has to be in JPEG and ratio should be 4:3.
⭕A participant can submit only 1 photograph.
⭕There are no distinctive themes.
⭕Submission will be fully online based.
⭕Photographs should be attached with the form maintaining definite pixel and quality.
⭕Simple editing is acceptable but no manipulation should be made to the photo.
⭕Watermark or border is not allowed.
⭕All photos must be original works taken by the entrants. The photo must not infringe upon the trademark, copyright, moral rights, intellectual rights or rights of privacy of any entity or person.

In this category, you can use DSLR, SLR and Digital Cameras to submit your photos in the competition.

⭕Image format has to be in JPEG and ratio should be 3:2.
⭕A participant can submit only 1 photograph.

Live events will be held in a most spectacular way for all the students! An opportunity to showcase your artistic skills and compete with some other self esteemed contestants on a grand scale.

?Traditional Painting Competition?
Participants will dive into the realms of painting in a festive atmosphere on our college premises! They are free to choose a theme and give it life within the limited time.
⭕Time: 2 hours
Slot 1: 10 am to 12 pm
Slot 2: 1 pm to 3 pm
★We will provide 3 types of papers-
1)Canvas paper
2)Cartridge paper
3)Handmade paper
Rules:
⭕Participants are free to choose any type of paper they would like to use. But participants must bring their own equipment (board/ pallet etc.) including colors.
⭕ Participants can use any type of colors (except oil color), such as :water, poster, acrylic, markers, pencil colors etc.
⭕Participants are requested to come at least 30 minutes before the competition starts.
