Your day will include several presentations with important information you need to know about move-in day (for residential students), orientation (for all students), academic expections, student life, FERPA, financial aid, and accessability and accommodations. DCAD staff will be available to answer your questions and help you prepare for your first year!

You will also complete a writing sample exercise, which is mandatory for all incoming students. The writing sample is used as an assessment tool to assist us in determining the academic writing classes you will take in your first year. While students are writing, parents and caregivers will gather with DCAD staff to talk about your student's first year at college.

Each session (June 29, July 18, and August 8) is limited to 45 students. We highly recommend you register as soon as possible. If this session is sold out, don't worry, check Eventbrite for the additional dates. Please do not wait to register or your preferred date may not be available!

NOTE: When you register, please register for the student only (one ticket) and add the number of guests in the registration form. Thank you!

Space is limited. Register early!

GUESTS: Students are welcome to bring up to 2 guests to JumpstART. Please indicate on the registration form the total number of guests in addition to the student where indicated.

PARKING: DCAD does not have a public parking lot. Metered street parking is available on Market St. and the surrounding area. Plan to bring quarters or you can download the Parkmobile Wilmington app. There are also several paid lots nearby. Visit the Wilmington Parking Authority website for additional information. Please do not park in the lot behind DCAD. It is a patrolled lot and unauthorized cars do get towed at the owner's expense.
