D.C. Celebrates Ukraine's Independence Day!
Dear Friends of Ukraine, please join us on Saturday, August 24, as Washington, D.C. celebrates Ukraine's Independence Day, a traditionlaunchedby US Ukrainian Activists (USUA) in August 2022.
Come together in a rally and march to honor Ukrainian Heritage, Culture, and Liberty!
August 24 also marks 2.5 years since the start of Russia's genocidal war against Ukraine, launched by the russian federation on February 24, 2022. During the event, we will pay tribute to the countless Ukrainian Heroes and Victims of russia's decade-longinvasion of Ukraine.
This family-friendly event welcomes everyone, Ukrainians and non-Ukrainians alike.
WHEN and WHERE: August 24, 2024 (Saturday):
5:00 p.m.: Assembly in front of the White House (North side).
5:30–6:30 p.m.: Official program featuring speakers and Ukrainian songs interlude.
6:45–7:15 p.m.: March from the White House to the Taras Shevchenko Memorial.
7:15 p.m. - 8 p.m.: Concert at Taras Shevchenko Memorial.
