DC Casineros Dance Company Auditions – 2026–2027 Season
DC CASINEROS DANCE COMPANY – SECOND FALL AUDITION
Missed our first audition? We’re holding a second audition for dancers interested in joining DC Casineros for our Fall 2026 season!
📅 Wednesday, August 26
⏰ 8:30–10:00 PM
📍 Dance Place
3225 8th St. NE, Washington, DC 20017
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking dancers ages 18 and older who are enthusiastic about Cuban dance, training, performance, and being part of a dance company.
We welcome dancers with experience in Casino, Rueda de Casino, Son, Afro-Cuban dance, Cuban folklore, Salsa and other Latin dances, Reparto, Hip-Hop, street and popular dance styles, African dance, modern/contemporary, ballet, and other movement backgrounds.
You do not need to come exclusively from a Cuban dance background. We are interested in adaptable and enthusiastic dancers who bring musicality, movement, personality, and a willingness to learn and grow. Partner-dance experience is highly recommended, but dancers from Hip-Hop, street dance, Reparto, Afro-diasporic, and other movement traditions are strongly encouraged to audition.
What to Expect at the Audition
The audition will include Afro-Cuban movement and warm-up, Casino partnerwork, Rueda de Casino, and choreography/movement exercises.
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes that allow you to move easily.
Company Commitment
Our fall season begins in September.
Regular company rehearsals:
Tuesdays | 8:30–10:30 PM | Dance Place
There may also be additional Wednesday training sessions from 8:30–10:30 PM, generally about once a month, depending on what the company is preparing for.
Company dancers are also expected to continue their dance development through classes as recommended by our rehearsal director and instructors.
Throughout the year, we also have occasional weekend performances, including festivals, concerts, dance congresses, community events, and other special opportunities. These are not every weekend, and we try to give dancers plenty of advance notice for major performances and commitments.
