DC Black Pride: Casting Call for E. Lynn Harris Invisible Life:The Musical

Join us during the DC Black Pride Celebration for a full-day experience and national casting call for the World Premiere of E. Lynn Harris Invisible Life: The Musical, inspired by the groundbreaking novel that helped redefine contemporary Black literature and featuring an original score by Grammy Award-winning songwriters and Motown and Apollo legends Ashford & Simpson.

The day begins at 1:00 PM with SUNDAE SERMON LEGENDARY HOUSE BLOCK PARTY, an outdoor gathering featuring music and community engagement, continuing through 6:00 PM. From 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, performers are invited inside The Howard Theatre for an OPEN CASTING CALL, with a structured onsite process for auditions and next steps.

The evening continues with a reception from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by SUNDAE TEA LEGENDARY COMMUNITY TALK-BACK from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, hosted by Producer/Casting Sidra Smith and Writer/Director Javon Johnson (The Oval, The Lincoln Lawyer, Netflix), in a fireside-style conversation with invited cultural voices and special guests, along with a brief audience Q&A.

Admission is free, with a limited capacity of 200 guests.
