Planning meeting for all D.C. area educators in preparation for the 2023 Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action.
About this Event

All preK-12th grade D.C. area educators are invited to participate in a planning meeting for the sixth annual Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action (Feb 6th - 10th, 2023)!

During this time, we will be reminded of the 13 guiding principles and national demands, along with the Year of Purpose, as well as review and share resources for lessons and activities for uplifting Black Lives Matter at School during the Week of Action and beyond.

The meeting will be held at the Riverseed School, a DC Wildflower PCS. The mission of DC Wildflower Public Charter School (DCWPCS) is to create liberatory, culturally affirming, community-embedded learning environments that seamlessly connect students’ homes, schools, and communities. They are creating an ecosystem where students, families, and teachers can grow and connect deeply with one another, always learning and growing through life’s unfolding journey. The Riverseed School, was the first school opened as part of DCWPCS, and serves families East of the River.

The school is being designed by teachers in the community, to directly serve the Ward 7 neighborhood they seek to embed in.

Educators can prepare for the Week of Action by participating in this collaborative meeting, and by attending DCAESJ's Black Lives Matter at School virtual curriculum fair (Jan 21, 2023).
