This summer is about to be lit again!! DMV mark your calendars and get your taste buds ready!! The popular Afrobeats Block Party & Jollof Cook-Off is back this summer!! We’re taking Afrobeats & popular African culture the streets of the nation’s capital. Get ready for a total Afrobeats takeover at this festive block party and jollof cook-off.
One of the DMV's biggest sold-out events and most talked about Afrobeats event of 2023, the Block Party is an Afrobeats music & food Festival combined into 6 hours of cultural immersion and pure lituation that puts the vibrancy and diversity of African cultures on full display!!
The event features a super-lit Afrobeats day party with 5 top DJs, pop-up shop with several retail & food vendors, Afro-Caribbean food market, and a blind tasting 6 country jollof cook-off to settle the popular and never-ending West African jollof war.

The Jollof rivalry between these West African countries is no secret. If you have a West African friend, chances are you have had a jollof dish presented with a hefty serving of trash talk. But is this never-ending culinary war really over-taste, or is it a sheer display of patriotism and national pride?
