The DC 48 Hour Film Project returns for its 2024 Holiday Competition, offering you the chance to create a short film in just 48 hours and see it premiered on the big screen!

What to Expect:
? Kickoff Event: It all starts with the Friday night Kickoff, where teams draw their film genres and receive the required elements for their film. With your team assembled, it's time to brainstorm, write, shoot, and edit your film—all within 48 hours.
? The Race Is On: The clock starts ticking as soon as you get your genre. You have until Sunday night to submit your masterpiece. Whether it’s a comedy, drama, sci-fi, or thriller—your creativity is the limit!
? Premiere Screening: The payoff? Watching your film premiere at the renowned AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, Maryland, with an audience eager to experience your work. Every film, whether submitted on time or late, will be screened. There’s nothing like seeing your film on the big screen and feeling the energy of the crowd's reaction.
? Awards Ceremony: After the screenings, the excitement continues at the city awards event, where top films will be recognized. With more than a dozen awards up for grabs—including Best Acting, Best Directing, and the coveted Best Film—this is your chance to shine!
