Daði Freyr is a singer, songwriter and producer known as one of Iceland’s most beloved and distinctive pop artists. His clever songwriting, synth-pop sound and playful approach have resonated with audiences worldwide.
In this concert, Daði Freyr performs for the first time with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, where symphonic arrangements meet his characteristic pop sound. Well-known songs are reimagined in the orchestra’s expansive sound.
Daði captured global attention in 2020 with Think About Things, which became a major online hit with over 100 million plays and praise from artists including P!nk, James Corden and Russell Crowe. Since then, he has sold out venues across Europe and the United States and performed at major festivals.
Now entering a new creative chapter, Daði presents music from his upcoming album, blending his signature sound with new collaborations and emotional depth.
The conductor is Daníel Bjarnason, who recently performed with Rosalía.
The event is an Iceland Airwaves Special Event which means that festival pass holders receive priority and discounts on their ticket to this event, but the concert is open to all.
With this concert, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra continues its collaboration with Iceland Airwaves, following previous performances with John Grant, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Emilíana Torrini, Ólafur Arnalds, Ásgeir Trausti and Mugison.
