About this Event
The season opens with Glinka’s lively Ruslan and Lyudmila Overture, a spirited work known for its energy, quick rhythms, and brilliant orchestration. Violinist * then joins the orchestra for Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 1, a virtuosic showcase combining dazzling technique with lyrical melodies and the distinctive flair of Paganini’s writing. The program concludes with Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suites Nos. 1 & 2, featuring memorable melodies, rich orchestral colour, and a range of moods from graceful and pastoral to dramatic and exuberant.
