Join us May 23rd 2026 for the Annual OAPB Daytime Swordfish Tournament brought to you through the OAPB Fishing club.
This event is open to anyone and everyone , you don’t need to be a member of the club to fish or participate in the Captains Party and Awards Ceremony!
Charlie Johnson will be the committee boat and will be fishing the tournament as well.

Prize structure is based on a 30 boat entry (sliding scale)
15% of general entry and 10% of calcuttas will go to OAPB and supporting charities.
GENERAL ENTRY - $600
1st Place - $5,000 + Trophy
2nd Place - $4,000 + Trophy
3rd Place - $3,000 + Trophy
4th Place - $2,000 + Trophy
5th Place - $1,000 + Trophy
OPTIONAL CATEGORIES
1. Big Fish -WTA - $300
2. Big Fish - (50/30/20 Split) - $200
3. First Swordfish - WTA - $100
4. Big Dolphin - (60-40 Split) $100

Tournament Times
Saturday, May 23rd
Lines-In 7:30am - Lines out 4:30pm
Weigh-In 4:30pm - 6:30pm
Scales close at 6:30pm @ Alsdorf Park 14th St.
Awards Ceremony will be held Tuesday night 6pm at 26 Degrees Brewery.( This will allow time to have the trophy’s personally engraved for the top 5 boats )
OAPB DAYTIME SWORDFISH TOURNAMENT RULES
1)All anglers must be listed on entry form. Please call Charlie Johnson at 954-258-9285OR Shaughn Miller at 954-540-6740 if any changes need to be made.
2) Electric reels are allowed and multiple rods/reels can be utilized at the same time. All fish must be caught on rod and reel. No entangling devices are allowed.
3) Swordfish must measure 47’’ long from lower jaw to fork of tail. Dolphin must be minimum 20’’ from tip of nose to fork of tail. No mutilated fish will count.
4) Gentleman’s line in at 7:30AM-lines out 4:30PM weigh station closes at 6:30PM. Weigh station is at Lighthouse Point Marina. Unfortunately spectators aren’t allowed because of parking issues.
5) “ Good Time Charlie’’ will be the committee boat. If Good Time Charlie can’t be reached please relay your fish until a response is received.
6) Fish hooked before lines out may be fought after 4:30PM but must be visually verified by the committee boat and you must be at weigh station by 6:30PM.
7) All catches must be time video time stamped. You must video ‘’ proof of life ‘’ dead fish don’t count. Meaning the video must show the fish being fought to the gunwale, gaff, and pulled over gunwale. These videos will be readily available to all teams after tournament.
Video of fish being fought is mandatory. Establish a go pro turned on if a videography is not available. Position go-pro in necessary position. This is the responsibility of the captain to insure this is followed.

9) Only one fish per boat will be eligible for general prizes. No limit for calcutta’s.
10) by entering the tournament the captain of the vessel agrees to get the consent of himself and his crew to hold ‘’ Offshore Anglers of Pompano Beach ‘’ harmless and assumes sole responsibility for the safety of it’s vessel and the crew, and further agrees, himself and his crew will submit to a polygraph test if requested.
11) All decisions concerning this tournament ( items not covered in the official rules ) will be made by the OAPB tournament committee, and will be made with the utmost fairness and common sense possible, and are final.
12. No North/South boundries however you must depart from 1 of 4 inlets (Boynton/Boca/Hillsboro and Port Everglades)
