Daylight Hours + Jolabokaflod!

Born from the term “third place" coined by the American sociologist Ray Oldenburg in the 1980s, Cozy Third Place is like clay, ready to be molded. The shape it will take depends on the good energy and love we, as a community, put into it. Kindness, respect for diversity, and aspiring to find common threads to weave into a beautiful tapestry is what this is about.

Come as you are and be part of a community where you can relax, feel safe and comfortable, engage in creative activities, have conversations with new acquaintances, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy moments of tranquility.

While you’re here, you will have access to unlimited tea and certain arts/crafts materials to help you relax, as well as books and games to help you unplug from devices.

During the daytime sessions, you are welcome to come with a device and use it while relaxing in our space.

While holidays are a time for being merry and mingling with loved ones, it can also be stressful and socially overwhelming.

Want to get away from all the cookies at home?

Want some silence from all the chatting?

Need some alone time to breathe?

Don’t want to think about if you forgot to bring a gift for anyone?

To get a short reprieve from it all, we will do a twist on Jolabokaflod, an Icelandic tradition of gifting books as Christmas gifts and then reading them together on Christmas Eve. Ours is going to be a few days before on Dec 21st!
Kick back, drink some tea or hot chocolate, get cozy and read!

Bring your books,e-readers, or borrow from us. Encourage but not mandatory book exchange too to keep the spirit of sharing going.
