You can’t afford to be left out. Africa is the future again. The week is also “Transatlantic Family Reunification Week (TFRW) for the descendants (victims) of the Transatlantic Slave Trade including Jews enslaved and forced out of Africa. This is why we are launching a fundraising campaign to sponsor 1619 individuals to attend this historic trip.

AFRICA IS OPEN AND READY TO LEAD AGAIN.

Re: Daylight Africa Week.

How come Africa, the birthplace of humankind, the cradle of civilization, the vivid symbol of diversity, the gem of natural beauty, the cultural axis of the universe, the global provider of natural resources has been marred with corporate and political graffiti?

In 2003, the famous Cable News Network (CNN) wrote a story that stated that ‘Advanced DNA testing combined with recently unearthed discoveries are bolstering the belief that if you look back far enough, all living human beings are the descendants of a small, innovative and ambitious set of people on the African continent. With the mapping of the human genome in 2003, combined with thousands of people around the world submitting their DNA for testing, there's now mounting physical proof that we all started in Africa before migrating around the world. Geneticists are able to identify certain genetic sequences or "markers" in each of us and cross-reference it with a number of ever-growing international databases. Where there's a match, there's likely a common ancestor and genetically speaking, all markers point to Africa’ (Barnett, 2013)

That is why in recent times, amidst some raging political rhetoric by politicians from America and Europe to drive foreigners out and take their countries back, the African leadership at home and in the Diaspora are just watching because they know that rhyming with the West in such divisive remarks would mean getting all corporations out of Africa and leaving humanity to its own instruments. It is impossible, because all humanity comes out of Africa and therefore, Africans seek peace, partnerships and prosperity.

It is against this backdrop of information that the African Union Day Foundation is collaborating with African Governments, the African Union, Regional Economic Communities, the New Partnership For African Development, the Economic Commission for Africa, the African Development Bank and the broader civil society to convene annual Africa Open-house Week. A continent that has given so much to the world is again ready to lead in pacifying the increasingly polarized world. With its unique attributes for development, coupled with its youth-dominant population, peaceful coexistence among all its citizens shall make the continent and the rest of the world perfect habitats to live, raise families, nurture entrepreneurship, vacation destination and investment.

As the African Diaspora has become the Sixth Region of the African Union and the citizens are participating in many areas of Africa’s development, this envisioned annual Daylight Africa Week in promoting economic opportunities, education, health, culture, innovation, peace and partnership would open more collaborative doors of prosperity for the continent and the outside world.

Logistics:

The annual Daylight Africa Week opens to all visitors from all over the world:

GOVERNMENT:

Daylight Africa Week (DAW) is hosted and managed by relevant individual government authorities that produce Daylight Africa Week Guidebooks containing negotiated discounts for airlines, hotels, convention centers, cruise lines, taxis, restaurants, tourist guides, theaters, and all other related guests services.

The government authorities provide safety, security and enjoyable experiences for all the visitors, dignitaries, professionals, sponsors, stakeholders and host families and organizations during the week.

Host governments and their authorities and agencies can offer sponsorship, scholarships, partnerships and other benefits for visitors, sponsors and investors.

They can offer special investment packages including real estate to visitors, particularly to African descendants in the diaspora.

The Ministry of Tourism from each African government must produce a Daylight Africa Week Guidebook and a promotional video (upto 9 minutes) highlighting why people should come their country.

They can host government sponsored forums, cultural events, educational and national landmarks tours during the week.

They collaborate with other governments and world organizations for relevant joint projects and mutually relevant interests.

Individual countries can postpone or change their Daylight Africa Week in cases of emergencies such as wars, virus spread, natural disasters, etc.

MULTINATIONAL, LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS AND WEALTHY BENEFACTORS:

NGOs and businesses can offer sponsorship opportunities to individuals and groups as part of their marketing campaigns.

HOST HOMEOWNERS:

Instead of hotels, homeowners can host visitors who prefer deeper connections with the locals for fees or free.

CELEBRITIES, DIGNITARIES AND DIPLOMATS:

Daylight Africa Week is expected to be a week full of entrepreneurship activities, entertainment, tourism, discoveries, stakeholders’ collaborations and African family reunion programs.

EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS:

Educational institutions of all levels can use Daylight Africa Week to send their teaching staff and students to spend the week on the continent as part of their curricula.

DAYLIGHT AFRICA WEEK GLOBAL MARKETING & PROMOTION:

While organizers, sponsors and stakeholders would devise their marketing strategies, individual host nations and their tourism authorities are responsible for marketing their nations to the world, and where mutually beneficial, joined marketing campaigns would designed to promote DAW.

LIABILITY:

All visitors and their host nations and families will hold African Union Day Foundation, its officials, members, sponsors and other organizing participants harmless.

Visitors and participants are responsible for their medical, travel and other liability insurance coverages.

OPPORTUNITY FOR ENTREPRENEURS IN THE CONTINENT OR OUTSIDE:

African Union Day Foundation shall partner with Diaspora entrepreneurs, businesses and NGOS for logistics on travel and promotions.

Dear friends and colleagues,

As you may be aware, we are in the midst of organizing our maiden annual Daylight Africa Week which should take place from September 3-10, 2022 throughout the continent. This obviously requires lots of cooperation, contacts and zoom meetings in putting all relevant pieces together.

We’re therefore looking to hire interns who are interested in African affairs to help. These internships can lead to long term full employment positions with many benefits and opportunities including frequent traveling abroad. The positions are open to all interested individuals 18 years old and older. Swahili, English, French and Arabic are the working languages for African Union member countries.
