Join us for a hands-on workshop as part of the Latin American Heritage Month Festival by Latincouver. Learn how to create an Ofrenda (offering) for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a practice that honors and remembers loved ones who have passed away. In this in-person workshop, you will learn the cultural significance of each element of an Ofrenda and how to create your own altar to welcome the spirits of the deceased. Guided by experienced instructors, you'll craft your unique Ofrenda using traditional items like marigolds, candles, and photographs.
Latincouver is proud to celebrate the sixth year of Latin American Heritage Month in BC with a vibrant mix of artist performances, art exhibitions, workshops, forums, and events both in person and online. This annual celebration honours the rich culture of Latin America and its significant influence in BC and Canada.
Join us from October 15 to November 3, 2024, to experience the vitality and diversity of Latin American heritage. Events will take place at Granville Island, University Canada West, and the Latin Plaza Hub.
